Torrigiani Garden

Torrigiani Garden is a big park located in the Quarter of San Frediano between Via dei Serragli, Via del Campuccio and Viale Petrarca. Some parts of it still show the original 16th Century arrangement, while others have been reshaped as an English Garden in the years 1802-1817 behest of marquis Pietro Torrigiani by architects Luigi Cambray Digny and Gaetano Baccani.
In the Garden are still to be found many of the small monuments and buildings added in early 19th Century, the most notable one being the Tower, built in 1824. It housed a library and was used as an observatory.
