The Art of Paper

The pictoresque workshop of Omero Benvenuti, bookbinder since 1967, is right in the heart of the artisan Florence, two steps away from Santo Spirito square and the Gardens of Boboli.

Omero works exclusively by hand, with the passion and creativity of ancient Florentine craftsmen: first quality natural leather, colours and glue and 100 years old tools are used by him for creating unique objects.

The bookbinder's experience and the artist's fantasy enable Omero to create bookbindings and covers in both antique and modern style (from the replica of a 17th century cover to a trendy design) for diaries, photo albums, notebooks, sketchpads and much more.

Omero realizes not only bindings and covers: among his works are gilt and decorated edges of books as well as fine stationery objects.

Hand-made Florentine marble paper is also among Omero's works: with countless combinations of traditional and new patterns and colours Omero carries on one of the oldest traditions in Florentine bookbinding art.

Feel free to send a message to Omero for any question you may have about his works!
